How we work

From Enquiry to Engagement

1

Scoping call

A short call to confirm the matter is one we can help with. No advice is given until we are engaged.

2

Written engagement

We confirm the scope, an estimate of time and our terms in writing.

3

Payment on account

Work begins once the payment on account is received. Time is drawn down against it and topped up as the matter proceeds.

4

Delivery

Written advice, analysis or a report, with an itemised record of time.

Terms

Fees are payable whatever the outcome of the matter. We do not work on a contingency, success-fee or percentage basis. Where we are instructed as an expert witness, our overriding duty is to the court under CPR Part 35, and we do not act as an adviser to either party on the same matter.

Expert reports and volume work for panel firms can be quoted as a fixed fee on request. Travel, court attendance and third-party disbursements are charged in addition.

The Rivermead Partnership Ltd is not a firm of solicitors and does not carry out reserved legal activities. Where a matter needs a solicitor, barrister or other regulated adviser, we work alongside them.
